Difference between SEO & SEM?

• SEO & SEM are basically the targeted towards the same aim (i.e.) to improve the page ranking.
• SEO & SEM looks alike or depicts the tortoise and hare story.
• Hence, though SEM will improve the page ranking immediately, It is only the SEO which helps us to retain our position in the view of long term.
